Dr. George Skevis is a Principal Researcher in CPERI/CERTH. He is a Mechanical Engineer (BEng, Imperial College London, MS, Stanford University, PhD, Imperial College London) and his expertise lies in the areas of energy engineering and fuel science and technology. His research work focusses on the direct use of conventional and alternative energy carriers in advanced combustion/thermochemical conversion systems and the mitigation of their adverse environmental effects. He is the author of more than 100 publications in archive journals and international conference proceedings (h-index = 18, ca 1000 citations). He is a Visiting Professor in the International Hellenic University and in the Agricultural University of Athens. Dr Skevis has been involved as coordinator/senior researcher in more than 20 EU funded research projects/networks and he is currently the Vice-Chair of the SMARTCATS COST Action. He is the President of the Greek Section of the Combustion Institute.
