Executive Secretary of CIVINET CY-EL, Cyprus Representative of CIVITAS, Greece
Alexia Spyridonidou is a Spatial-Urban Planner, specialised in Transport Planning (MSc) and Spatial Analysis - Cartography (MSc). She has worked in Greece, France and Slovenia, where she dealt with urban and regional planning, urban climatology, sustainable mobility and participatory planning. In recent years, she has participated, in various European projects within Horizon 2020, Interreg MED, Interreg Danube, URBACT, and Europe for Citizens (EACEA), among others. Since 2016, she has been supporting Greek-speaking local authorities’ shift towards greener modes of transport, focusing greatly on islands. During that time, she co-developed the Sustainable Island Mobility Plan (SIMP) tool. Currently, she is Executive Secretary of CIVINET CY-EL, helping its members to shape an advocacy strategy for EU transport and mobility policies.
